We feel this is the most affordable and complete home
brewing system you will find for brewing 10 gallon batches. The Keggles
are made from USED 15.5 Gallon Sankey type kegs. You may
upgrade to NEW kegs. The system is not automated; it
is controlled by you - the Home Brewer. The Keggle Brewer starts with
3 of Keggle Brewing Keggles. The first Keggle sits on the top shelf and is used
as a HLT it has a 0 to 250 degree stainless steel bi-metal thermometer, a
three-piece stainless steel ball valve with a 1/2 inch stainless siphon
tube and a 1/2 inch stainless drain tube used for spraging, a
stainless sight gauge and lid, with an open handle that allows the lid to hook
onto the Keggle when not in use. The second Keggle sits on the lower
shelf and is used for a Mash Tun. It also includes a 0 to 250 degree
thermometer with a 4” stem, a sight gauge, and a three-piece stainless steel
ball valve. The Mash Tun is also fitted with a false bottom made of
16-gauge perforated stainless steel hinged in the center with a 1/2
inch stainless steel siphon tube attached to the inside of the
Keggle. The third Keggle also sits on the lower shelf and is used as a
Boil Kettle. This Keggle also includes the same thermometer, sight gauge,
and three-piece ball valve. The system also includes a 809 March Pump.
This is the most popular pump used by home brewers. The pump has a
max flow of 7.5 GPM and a max temperature of 250F a 1/25 hp air cooled
motor. The system also includes a 12" x 3" x 3" 30
plate heat exchanger that equals 108 cubic inches as compared to 92 cubic
inches as found in other popular plate chillers. This allows for
very quick chilling of the finished wort. The frame is made of 1-inch
square tubing with commercial grade height adjustable swivel casters; two
of which include locks. The frame with Keggles sits 74" from
the floor, is 20" wide and 65" long. The Keggles are
secured by placement around a 1-inch tall metal ring to keep the
Keggle from sliding or moving while maintaining a clean look. The
heating system is made up of three 55,000 BTU propane burners. All three
burners have their own in-line regulator for maximum flame control that is centrally located
below the top shelf. The lid on the Mash Tun includes a Keggle Brewing
Sparge Halo, made of 1/4 inch stainless tubing that runs
directly from the Sparge Kettle. This is the same type of open
handle as used on the Sparge Kettle. The wort from the Mash Tun is pumped
into the boil keggle through 1/2 inch stainless tubing into the
bottom of the boil kettle which helps to eliminate splashing.
Fittings on the Keggles, Pump, and Chiller are Tri-Clover Fittings made of
stainless steel which will eliminate the possibility
of melting. The Keggle Brewer includes two 4-foot sections
of FDA 1/2 inch hose rated to 350 degrees
with Tri-Clover fittings attached. The two lower shelves
are covered with 1/2 inch 18 gauge mesh for storage and to allow liquid to flow
thru.
